Arigho Larmour Wheeler Architects is an award-winning RIAI and RIBA/RSUA chartered practice with studios in Dublin and Belfast, founded in 2016 by Mark Arigho, Jane Larmour and Patrick Wheeler. We design thoughtful, contemporary architecture that responds to place, people and context, creating buildings that are both distinctive and grounded.
For us, architecture is an opportunity to make things better. We are committed to finding creative yet pragmatic design solutions that add beauty and value to every project. Our work engages with the cultural, historical and material qualities of a place, giving careful consideration to sustainability, heritage, landscape and craft. We often work with existing landscapes, historic, protected and listed buildings across the UK and Ireland, and hold RIAI Conservation Grade 3 accreditation, reflecting our specialist expertise in working sensitively with historic fabric. From public, cultural, educational and commercial buildings to one-off private residences, we take pride in delivering well-crafted architecture that sits harmoniously within its surroundings.
Our work is shaped by collaboration. We work closely with clients, consultants and craftspeople to ensure each project is carefully considered and expertly executed across a range of scales and settings. We are also committed to teaching and nurturing the next generation of architects, sharing knowledge, skills and experience.
Arigho Larmour Wheeler Architects has been recognised with numerous awards, including nomination for the EU Mies van der Rohe Award for Contemporary Architecture, the RIAI Award for Best House, IDI Awards for Best House and Best Residential Interior, Finalists at the World Architecture Festival for Best International House, and awarded second place in the International Design Competition for Ireland House, Tokyo. Our work has also been widely published, reflecting our ongoing commitment to high-quality, context-led architecture.
