Belfast-born Jane Larmour is a founding Director of Arigho Larmour Wheeler Architects. She studied architecture at Queen’s University Belfast and University College Dublin, graduating with First Class honours and receiving two of Ireland’s highest student awards: the RSUA President’s Medal and the RIAI President’s Medal, as well as an RIAI Travelling Scholarship. Jane is a member of RIBA and RSUA, registered in the UK with ARB, and a member of the RIAI in Ireland. She also holds Grade III Architect Accredited in Conservation status with the RIAI.
Her professional experience spans award-winning public and cultural buildings, as well as homes and interiors, including the Stirling Prize-nominated Lyric Theatre, Belfast, the Photographers’ Gallery, London, and the Gallery of Photography, Dublin with O’Donnell + Tuomey, alongside significant domestic and international projects with Hall McKnight. She has specialist expertise in heritage and adaptive reuse, reflected in her co-run Master’s studio ‘In Praise of Adaptation’ at Queen’s University Belfast.
Jane has been teaching since 2009 and is a member of the Higher Education Academy. She contributes to the culture of architecture through publications, exhibitions, awards juries, and public engagement, including broadcasting and advocacy on the value of architects, architecture, and good design, including being the Architecture Judge on a popular home and interiors TV programme and hosting public events. She currently serves on the RIAI Committee for Public Affairs and Architecture.
