Jane Larmour is a member of the RIAI, registered in the UK with ARB, and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Jane was awarded the RIAI Future Award 2020, and selected for the AJ 40 under 40 2020. She is an active member of the RSUA Council, former RIBA Council Member and was an invited RIBA Regional Jury Member in 2017. Jane holds First Class honours degrees in Architecture from Queen’s University Belfast and University College Dublin, and was awarded the two highest student awards in Ireland - the RSUA President’s Medal (undergraduate) and the RIAI President’s Medal (post-graduate) and RIAI Travelling Scholarship.
She was awarded membership of the Higher Education Academy in 2021 and is a Lecturer (Education) in Architecture at QUB where she has been involved in teaching for ten years. Jane has specialist expertise as an Architect Accredited in Conservation at Grade III (RIAI) which complements her teaching at QUB particularly in the Master studio she co-runs called “In Praise of Adaptation” which focuses on heritage and adaptive reuse. Jane has been a Professional Examiner for the QUB Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice in Architecture recognised by the ARB. Jane contributed to the Royal Irish Academy publication on the Art and Architecture of Ireland and has been a guest presenter for BBCNI.
In previous practice Jane has been involved in a number of award-winning public buildings, including the Stirling Prize nominated Lyric Theatre, Belfast, Photographers' Gallery, London and Gallery of Photography, Dublin for RIBA Gold Medallists O’Donnell + Tuomey, and worked with Hall McKnight, Belfast, on their successful International design competition for Gallaudet University, Washington DC.
