Mews House in the curtilage of a Listed Building, Holywood Conservation Area, Co. Down

Requiring sensitivity to the surrounding listed buildings, the scale and form of this new mews house is respectful to that of the existing architectural and landscape context. Listed building Consent was required for alterations to the existing stone outbuildings, and also a planning Design and Access statement prepared for the project which is located in the wider curtilage of a Listed Building.

The new house extends an existing stone outbuilding, making a new arrival court to the front and a new sheltered garden to the rear. The narrow plan and provision of light wells ensures plenty of light is enjoyed throughout the home. Living space is located at both garden level and first floor level where a view to the surrounding trees can be enjoyed.
